- Hi.
-
- I posted some days ago about all the crashes I had trying to start
- programs in ShapeShifter v3.4 / system 7.0.1 on my 68060. This problem
- was easily solved by getting system 7.1 (thanks for the tip Lee!).
-
- Well, life is just not that simple, is it?
-
- Now another funny problem appears. I noticed a certain application
- needed a large chunk of memory to start so I set the "Mac memory" to
- 8192 kb instead of 3520 kb.
-
- The result is a white-black dithered screen and a (moveable)
- mousepointer. If I wait for approx. 30 seconds the Mac starts booting
- but crashes after the Welcome.. message.
-
- I tried this with a different ROM but then I didn't even get to the
- dithered screen. (Both ROMS are 1MB and worked ok previously.)
-
- I tried a lot of different memory sizes but if I go higher than
- 4200 kb the computer crashes.
-
- Since the ROM's act differently on this I would guess this to be a
- ROM problem (maybe some revisions are bad with 060), but I can't see
- why they would just stop working when there's more memory available.
-
- I have tried changing the REMAP8K, ENFORCER and NOCOPYBACK tooltypes
- with no success or change in behaviour.
-
- Can you help me?
-
- Thanks for reading,
-
